Why Sue?

For 23 years, I have lived in Oakville's Ward 5. It has been my community and my commitment.

Throughout my life, I have believed that strong communities are built when people come together to support one another, solve problems, and create opportunities for others.

That inspired me to found Hockey Cares, an organization dedicated to helping youth and families through sport and community support. For this, I won the King Charles III Coronation Medal in 2025, and the Care Award in 2026.
This commitment guided my work as Chair of SafetyNet, where I helped bring together community partners to address important local issues like food insecurity and precarity.
It also led me to volunteer with SAVIS, supporting individuals and families during some of life's most difficult moments.

These experiences taught me how to listen, how to bring people together, and how to turn ideas into action.

That's why I am running for Ward 5 Councillor.

My commitment is simple:

Growth is coming to Oakville — the question is how we manage it. I support carefully planned, balanced growth that protects our neighbourhoods and provides housing for families, seniors and young professionals without excessive density on the Trafalgar corridor.

Connecting Oakville Through Sport

Sue founded Hockey Cares in 2017 as a reconciliation initiative that unites Indigenous and non-Indigenous youth through hockey and cultural exchange. What began as a local project has grown into a nationally recognized program.
